MAKEUP PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Classification of Instructional Program (CIP 12.0401)
The program offers a basic 100 hour program in the study of Makeup Artistry. The program is designed to prepare and educate students in the fundamentals of beauty makeup. Students focus on application of makeup during the lab work hours. Classes will include custom color matching foundations, contouring, highlighting, brows, eye, cheek  and lip work. All training is based on the student’s creativity and individual style. This program has been designed for a beginner, entry level makeup artist and the professional makeup artist.

*Students are prepared for entry level makeup artist.

This course is taught in English.

**This program is not an accredited program and is not eligible for Title IV funding.

MAKEUP PROGRAM OVERVIEW AND OUTLINE

Program Hours: 100 clock hours

Makeup Program Curriculum: During this 100-hour program, students will master the knowledge and skills in Makeup artistry and gain a strong foundation of: cosmetic chemistry, sanitation, makeovers, natural application, evening application, camouflage, corrective, character, high-definition photography, editorial, glamour, and bridal work. Students will learn sales techniques, advanced product usage, and customer relations in preparation for work as makeup artists in salons and spas, on set, in the studio or paramedical spas, or for freelance Makeup career opportunities. Students must have a passing grade of 75% in all areas.

MAKEUP PROGRAM TESTING AND GRADING PROCEDURE

The following tests and grading procedures are incorporated during the student’s 100-hour program:

  1. Final Exam: Students must receive a grade of 75% or higher.
  2. Balance Application: Students must receive a grade of 75% or higher.
  3. Bold Application: Students must receive a grade of 75% or higher.
  4. Trend Application: Students must receive a grade of 75% or higher.
